11-27-2006, 01:38 PM
Give me a list and number of posts for each one to achieve the status

I'm sure you guys can come up with something creative and funny

I don't know how to match to the number of posts, but here are some. They aren't that good, but just to get ideas flowing.

Low total posts :
Bullpen Denizen
Marketing person
Board op
Producer

Medium posts :
Yankee beat person
Met beat person
20/20 Update guy
Overnight host

High posts :
10-1 host
Morning Drive host
Afternoon Drive host

Like I said, not that good, but hopefully will spark some other (better) ideas.

Good one yep. We can add people like Sweeney, Malusis. The more levels the better I think.

Agreed. Could come up with a lot more guys to fill in each level maybe 1050 guys also for the lower ones.

how about: little birdie, chinese chicken salad, fat eddie munster, robby benson, tennis-playing sissy, tuna helper...c'mon - there's gotta be more good ones out there!

I like those. Kettle of fish. Bottle of Diet Coke should be number 1, right?

EDIT : change that to Diet Coke Imbiber. :-)

I think "Back after this" is on the right track, I think this should be a more comedic thing

If you get to the top level then maybe you can become the Bloviating Pompous Expert

The one problem I see with using things like what Back After This posted (and I posted a few after) is people tend to use similar things for their screen names. Like Francesa's Lunchbox, would be a good one, but we know that is already taken. :-) If you could lock the level names we come up with so people can't use them as screen names maybe that would work. Of course we don't want to use established screen names like the aforementioned Francesa's Lunchbox and Little Birdie I think is one too. But we could use variations I guess, like Little Birdie in Mike's left ear, etc.

Maybe I am overthinking this. :-)

Just throwing things out as they come to mind. Good or bad. :-)

Russo's tennis trainer.
Mike's knee surgeon.
Russo's bookie.
Mike's pool boy.
Chris's pool boy.

i think we name them after hosts, naming them funny phrases are best used for signatures and new board members. and keep in mind i am the loser with 1000+ posts so we need multi levels..

1 = Somers
2-50 = Russ Salzberg

or

1-10 = Eli
11-51 = Mike from Montclair
510-1000 = Doris from Rego Park
10,000+ = Jerome from Manhattan

I like the caller idea. We'd have to come up with a good list of many callers and split up the amount of posts in my opinion.
Mike from Montclair, Roger from New Haven
Eli from Westchester as you said, Joe from Saddle River...etc..

1-49 Diet Coke
50-99 Chinese Chicken Salad
100-499 Hamburger
500-999 Double Cheeseburger
1000-1999 Bacon Cheeserburger
2000-4999 Filet Mignon
5000 + Surf & Turf

I think a cross between callers and Fan personnel I also would split it more i.e. 1-10 10-25 25-50 50-100 etc.. culminating obviously in jerome.

How about Mike's inner circle. Start with Russo and work your way up to Parcells.

Here's a short list.

Nance
Simms
Torre
Russo
Parcells
Majereus

Etc.

Figure I would bump up this thread, maybe people can add to it.

I think mikefran is still planning on implementing something like it.

Yes definitely, just have no idea what to use, had a few ideas but nothing too good.

Had an idea of people in Mike Francesa's life in order of importance to the big guy, with top rank being Mike's Ego

Lowest might be Mike's mailman, whatever you get the idea, I'm sure someone could come up with a good set and amount of post to achieve each rank

Let's try something like this in descending order. (I am leaving family out of it)

Mike's Ego.
Parcells
Astoria Studio's Diet Coke Machine
Simms
Nantz
Majerus

<I am drawing a blank on Mike's inner circle, I know there are plenty more above and below to fit in>

Mike's Bookie
Mike's "sports injuries" Doctor
Mike's Mailman
Mad Dog

Gun to your head

Actually maybe something more like this. Again in descending order

Mike's ego
Mike's waiter
Mike's favorite NFL head coach
Astoria studios diet coke machine
Mike's favorite ex NFL quaterback.
Mike's favorite current NFL quaterback.
Mike's favorite CBS announcer.
Mike's favorite NCAA basketball coach.
Mike's bookie
Mike's "sports injuries" doctor
Mike's mailman
Mike's broadcast partner

Of course there can be others added in.

EDIT: throw in somewhere these :
Mike's favorite thoroughbred trainer (jockey?)
Mike's favorite Sopranos cast member,
Mike's favorite NFL owner,
etc.

EDIT #2, Change Diet coke machine to Astoria Diet Coke Vending Machine Technician or something like that.

You forgot
Mike's favorite MLB manager
Mike's favorite NBA head coach (who's on once in a while and that's like a huge suckfest)
Mike's favorite Red Sox cleanup hitter
