From Phil Mushnick in today's NY Post

Our favorite Mike Francesa moments arrive when he blows hard about issues that he previously revealed to know nothing about.

Last season, Francesa admitted that he'd watched few NBA games. But that didn't prevent him from handicapping the playoffs - even after a few games already had been played - and getting it all colossally wrong.

Despite not paying much attention to last season's Knicks, Francesa, prior to this season, puffed that Steve Francis would average in "the low 20s." So, at the minimum, Francis, according to Francesa, would average 21 points.

Before being disabled Thursday, Francis had, in 18 games - 17 as a starter - averaged 11 points. That's 10 off Francesa's minimum prediction. It's not easy to be that wrong - unless you don't know what you're talking about.

M&MD's entire way of making predictions is psychology- and intangible-based. "It's hard to win Game 6 on the road in the NBA, the Tigers didn't end well, this is a trap game" etc etc etc. Mike at least tends to try to keep it in a framework of "yes but Team A is still much better," for Mad Dog it's all about "they're due for a win" or whatever.

Makes for good radio, but their picks are pretty mediocre.

Also, to be fair, when they talk about the NHL playoffs they will candidly admit, "these picks are worthless, we know nothing about the NHL." Maybe they should start doing that for the NBA.

Mushnick is such a tool!!! The few times I have heard this guy, he cannot even defend his own arguments, thats why he is a writer, so he can sit down and write out his thoughts slowly and work them out.

He just seems like a bitter man. There are so many things to take Francesa to task on if you wanted, why would you pick this, it just seems stupid.

Mushnick is a tool, but I agree with him here.

How the hell can you comment on something when you know little, if anything about the subject?

If Mike had watched plenty of games, then his comments could be taken seriously, but by opening his mouth and giving us his holier than thou, I know more than you bs, he exposes himself to criticism.

Mike has nothing to gain from hanidicapping sports he seldom watches. He would be better off not saying anything at all. What makes things worse is the fact that Mike and Chris rarely even discuss these sports, yet find it important to give us their opinion as to how the games will turn out. That makes no sense. You don't take calls on the games, don't watch them, yet handicap the games? :?
