Ok, maybe not purposely but here is the story.
My friend and I were leaving the Knicks game during one of the mid 90's playoff runs. We went down a sidestreet and we had the walk sign, Francesa comes barreling around the corner in some Lincoln like Town Car, all black.
We dodge out of the way and he actually starts making hand movements, yelling at us like it was our fault then speeds away.
So when someone asked if Mike is a dick in person, I'm sure he is, even though his persona is probably good for ratings, I think this is the real deal. I don't think this website would exist if the guy was not such a dick.
The above story is true, my friend and I were laughing at what a dick he was.
Now on another note, same situation, leaving a Knicks playoff game. This time I was driving, we spot Joe Benigno walking by himself. So we yell out "Yo Joe Benigno, how you doing". He stops, waves, screams back saying "Hello how are you guys, big Knicks win".
I have my faults with Joe as a talk show host but I think the guy really is a man of the people.
