Russo on Tony Paigedr11743 11-27-2006, 04:57 PM " Did Tony even know who won the USC ,Notre Dame game." Have to wonder if Tony's days are numbered at the FAN. say something funny mike 11-27-2006, 05:23 PM why were they even talking about him? dr11743 11-27-2006, 05:28 PM Roger from New Haven had called Evan Sat night , and said in 5 years it will be Evan and Kevin in the Mike and the Dog spot, and that Evan was the future of the WFAN. Chris was doing his rundown of what Mike heard over the break. Mike did say He "likes Tony ,he's a really nice guy." Icelanders 11-28-2006, 09:04 AM I have heard them kid on Tony a little bit before. They usually just joke that it would be opening night of March Madness and Tony would be talking about boxing, something this board has correctly pointed out. I actually think they are kinder to him then some other hosts, and Tony should just be happy that someone is mentioning his name doing normal person hours. As far as the midday being Evan and Kevin please stop....After listening to Evan with Joe during the summer,it was terrible. Evan spent a segment asking Joe if he should wear his hat backwards or not on his date tonight. Joe was completely uncomfortable and was just wondering when he could go into a rant about the Jets...All in all it was terrible radio, and by 5:00 Joe was literally saying things on the air like "It's only 5:00, boy" Francesa's Lunchbox 11-28-2006, 01:54 PM Did Russo call him an "idiot" like Recco's kid? :D FreeBobKemp 11-28-2006, 11:17 PM Senor Evan is just a little duckling...no way he can be on days any time soon. He needs mileage. Plus, he is a bit of a putz.Plus, he's one of those "vocabulary fakers." You know the type: People who try to use deluxe words they don't even know the meaning of, in a futile effort to sound more intelligent. Last Friday, I think it was, he was doing the afternoon and said the Detroit Lions should be stripped of the annual Thanksgiving game because they stink. Fair enough, but he then lamented how television viewers have to "be subjugated to the Lions." Umm, you mean "subjected"? This was a few minutes after he and the update guy (can't remember who) got into a discussion about Tony Romo of the Cowboys dating Jessica Simpson. Roberts said he thought Simpson was hot, and the update guy disagreed. Roberts said something to the effect of, "Who's hotter than Jessica Simpson?" The update guy said Scarlett Johansson. So Roberts says something like, "They're both hot ... what, are we going to get into semantics here?" "Semantics?" The Poster 12-01-2006, 01:03 PM If Paige's days are numbered, it is fine by me. I don't ever want to hear him on the radio again. After listening to him two night ago killing the Giants, I am now rooting for the Giants to win. | |
