This AM, Joe had Kinky Friedman on and spent about 15 mins on an Imus lovefest.

I'd be VERY surprised if we don't see Don back in September.

Hopefully, for all concerned, they can get back to where the morning show is awful WITH the I-Man.

Oh geez, Scarborough was on this morning?!? "I'm not saying this is going to happen, but it's clear that it's going to happen." "I'm raising my voice for no apparent reason." "I'm a failed Congressman from the Panhandle, it just wasn't for me." "I'm a schill for New Gingrinch", etc.

He served 3 terms and 6 years in Congress is long enough for anyone. In my opinion a failed congressman is one who stays there too long. Look at Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Pete Domenici, etc.

He's no shill for Gingrich. He criticized him heavily in his book, "Rome wasn't burnt in a day" and he criticized lots of Dems too.

Scarborough is a cool, interesting guy. He's no stuffed-shirt. I think he was even in a rock band. I think he's funny and smart, a difficult combination to find in radio.

PS: Imus is not coming back.

He wasn't bad but it was hard to listen when he had Rob Bartlett "call in" as the quarantined airline traveler, complete with the coughing and hacking. What the hell were they thinking about when they wrote up that bit? It wasn't funny or clever, just lame. That being said I like Scarborough. If that fossil John Gambling ever retires Joe would make a natural replacement.

You don't even get your feet wet enough to warrant enough respect within Congress to be prominent on congressional committees. Even with only 3 terms, he was still considered a rookie. 6 years isn't long enough when most successful Congressmen/women serve 10 or more. That's just politics, you have to earn your way into the "inner sanctum". Scarborough didn't do that, and that's pretty much why he decided not to run after 2001.

As for him "bashing" Gingrich, his record speaks for himself. He was part of the "Republican Revolution" who voted for everything The Contract for America stood for. He never strayed from that party line not once. And now with his ability to make money, he gets paid to go against the grain, even though his record stood by the man he was bashing.

Scarborough, just like most current and former politicans, comes off as fake to me.

I really have no opinion on Scarborough, but I believe that he didn't run in 2000 because the Republicans that were elected in 1994 as part of the Contract with America had as part of their pledge that they would only serve 3 terms because they believed in term limits. Many broke that pledge. If Scarborough actually didn't run because of that pledge, at least I give him credit for that. Maybe it was convenient because he makes more money not being in Congress. I do think that he seems a bit of a phony.
