One would have thought in the aftermath of the Imus firing, WFAN would have attempted to have a more inclusionary hiring policy. Somewhat amazing that Chernoff has not given an African American an opportunity to host in "Imus slot".
Among those to host in the morning post Imus: Francesa, Russo, David Gregory, Joe Scarborough, Jim "Mad Money" Cramer, Mike North, Geraldo, Boomer, and Monica Crowley.
The list is virtually entirely lilly white (Geraldo is half-Jewish/half Puerto Rican).
I guess Chernoff just can't find a qualied African American in the most diverse city on the planet.
The closest The Fan has come is Jonathan Eig who wrote "Opening Day" (the book about Jackie Robinson's first season in the majors.)

Mohawk,
Chernoff's got Mike Francessa in the Morning! The Manhasset Oracle! The Political Insider! The St. Francis of the Talk Show World!
Francessa crosses all lines. Time will show him to be the great liberator. He's voice of a nation, the conscience for these, our troubled times!

I'd love to see more diversity on the FAN, but it really doesn't seem like a priority.
Also seems increasingly evident that Imus is coming back ...

IF Imus were to come back, which I personally doubt, the WFAN management would have to demand that he add a black on-air personality to the mix. The outcry from the people who demanded his original ouster would be muted or nonexistent if Imus made such a change. It would allow them to declare victory and point to the hiring as proof that their efforts succeeded. On the other hand, if he were to return in September without changes, the negative publicity and protests would be would be too much for FAN/CBS management to handle.

They would be better served with Woody Paige (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woody_Paige) instead of Tony Paige. He may not be a minority or fill a quota but he isn't dull like Tony.
P.S. That comment about Sweeny is uncalled for.
