Mike and Parenting

Hey, I am new to posting, but an avid reader of this site. My screen name was justified this morning as when beginning with the Simms Spotlight, he told Phil that "he (Mike) would try to watch as much as the game as possible. He would be at his Mother-in-Law's and would give the kids to someone because their would be a ton of people there and he would watch the game."

Please, Mike, don't let celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ with family and parenting your kids get in the way of watching a football game.

I nominate him and Chris Russo as co-Fathers of 2006.

Thats awesome. My brother said the same thing about three years ago and has NEVER lived that statement down. Good to see that Mike Francesa and my brother have alot in common. LOL

Are we really surprised? Considering he probably didn't have anything to actual do with fathering 'his' kids.

He probably is just old and set in his ways.....A guy like him having kids for the first time in his 50's is not a good combo.....

Hopefully Mike will have some one else teach his kids about eating and exercise habits.

A guy his age and more importantly his size is not a good mix watching three kids especially when they are between the ages of 2-5 and need constant supervision. They are always running around and Mike does not have the interest, patience or stamina to keep up with them.

Little kids like that want you to play with them and Mike can hardly get out of his chair in the studio let alone sit down (and get up repeatedly) on the floor to play games with these toddlers.

This is where Ro will earn her money because she can't count on much help from her slob of a husband.

Looking foward to Mike'd Up tomorrow to see if Ro and the kids make an appearance.

C'mon, you know it isn't just during the holidays- I'm sure His Fatness acts that way on a routine basis.

Yeah, I've seen some of my buddies act that way during the holidays, but not to that extent. The time with their kids is usually split up between mom and dad with a few intervals of guests holding them or watching them.

I'm betting Francesa is the ultimate absentee father.

We should point out watching games is Mike's job. Whether he can watch the kids at the same time is debatable.

It's not too hard to TiVo the games, but I'm sure he isn't technically savy enough to do that and wants an excuse to not watch his children.

Pretty simple: he has maids and babysitters because he can afford to pay them. Not bad for a guy who talks sports for like 40 weeks a year, probably even less than that; and he gets to hob-knob with sports figures and coaches/managers every week on his show and during charity events.

I wish I could do that.

At least Chris wife married him when he was not as well known.Fatso dumped Kate when he got rich and famous

Chris met his wife in 1993 per an SI article from years ago so he was famous but I doubt his wife knew who he was since she's not into sports.
