Tom Coughlin interview?

Are we not getting the "Tom Coughlin Report" today?

C'mon, I'm dying to hear the disdain in Coughlin's voice when 23 year old Evan critiques Tom on his play calling and the fact that this team has no disclipline.

They probably have it written in the contract language that Coughlin can only be interviewed by Mike or Chris. Same as why the show is never on YES unless they are there.

Also, how is emasculating is it for Sweeney that he is doing the 20/20 updates when Evan is the host. I was wondering what Sweeney did during the Yankee offseason because this is the only time I've heard him except for one baseball hot stove show in November.

Was thinking the same thing..But Vilma was on today on his normal spot albeit with Neer not Joe B.

Not sure what the contract says about specific hosts.

Read a few weeks ago in the Post that he may be leaving to be the Phillies pre and post game host. See the excerpt below:

Sweeny Murti may be leaving WFAN for Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Murti, FAN's Yankee beat reporter, is a leading candidate to be the Phillies' pre- and post-game radio host.

"That's true,'' said Murti, who declined further comment.

Murti grew up two hours from Philadelphia. Murti, 36, has been on the Yankee beat for six years at FAN.

I ran into Murti at JFK airport about a year ago. I think he was flattered that he was recognized (I recalled seeing him on Mike'd Up) and we had a pleasant conversation. The Phils' gig seems like a step up for Murti and I wish him the best.

Mike will be happy because he used to tell Murti that he was a jinx. The Yankees haven't won a championship since Murti took over for Suzyn Waldman after the 2000 season.

Just to bring this back to the Coughlin part for a minute....I'm almost hoping we get killed Sat night that way Coughlin is out. If they sneak in at 8-8, I have a feeling he's coming back (even though in the AFC we'd be in roughly 12th place)....

From Gary Myers in todays Daily News

" I asked one Giant in the days after Sunday's debacle against the Saints how the players feel these days about Coughlin - did they want him back, and what has gone wrong?

"We are tiring of his act," the Giant said. "He is pushing too hard. We're still in full pads for part of practice, despite all the injuries we have and the fact that it's the end of a long season. He is very 'me' oriented, always talks about doing things his way - his hard-***, no-give approach - but we're not winning or sustaining games, so the disconnect is widening and we are tuning him out."

Yeah he seems like a good guy who is getting no respect amongst the John Schmeelks of the WFAN world. Had no idea he did Mike'd Up.

Off Topic I know. Rollins, how did you get that picture into your signature? I can't figure out how to do that.

Also mikefran, are the avatars turned on? I don't think they are, I couldn't figure out how to do them either.

I took the roundabout way of doing and pasted it into my post. You can't yet add images to your sig or avatars but I think mikefran is working on that.

i like sweeny, i think he does a nice job with the yanks (jinx aside).
obviously he could be doing better financially elsewhere but i think he is shrewd enough to know that he is getting good contacts, experience and exposure with the yanks.

look what it did for suzyn!

im gonna miss him when he is gone.

Who wants to bet that's Tiki? Coughlin is going to be the second coach this Giants crew has kicked out.

Mike said today he was going to get all over Coughlin because of how he treated the play-calling responsibility switch.

Yeah right Mike, you know that the next time he is on that it will no longer be a story so you know that you'll never be called on it. Mike would never get on Coughlin because he is friends with Bill and he knows that Coughlin won't take any BS. Mike is the classic bully because he'll get on the callers and the lesser name guests but never on guys like Coughlin.

Also, a couple of weeks ago, Dog said, "Listen folks, one more time now so it's loud and clear...the Giants are NOT, I repeat NOT firing Tom Coughlin."

Now it'll take at least 1 and probably 2 wins for him to save his job. Way to read the situation, Doggie.

Mike next week with Coughlin: "Tiki is good Tom, he is good. That may have been a genius choice to change the play-caller for the game. And that Jared Lorenzen, who would have used him that way?."

Chris: "A gutsy call Tom. Good job. Ok, lets get to the Eagles..."

Thank you Mike from Montclair for exposing Mike as soft in his interview today with Coughlin.

Of course Mike says he was tough and "Coughlin has been furious at me for weeks and there is stuff you don't even know about that."

Sure Mike, I'm sure Coughlin is in his office until 11pm worrying abut you.
