An occasional good listen, but his over-the-top arrogance gets old quickly.

Yesterday, he continually ripped the voters that chose Tiger Woods as male athlete of the year - "golf isn't a sport", "golfers aren't athletes", "these voters are morons", "a squirrel could have made a correct choice", etc. He felt Tomlinson should have won.

In any event, he went on about this during his and SAS' show (he did both). He said that he was going to save the topic to bring up today on the Dan Patrick show (he is a fill-in host); saying that he would 'shock' those in the national audience, etc.

Well, the guy who is filling in on the Herd from 10-1 today (on 1050) has already taken up this topic, with the same viewpoint. By the time 'me-Max' gets on the air, it will be worn out and old news, as though he is just picking it up from the show before him; which I find kind of funny as a blow to his ever-inflating ego.

While I agree that Ladanian should have won, its an Associated Press award, which culls in international votes. Unless there is an OVERWHELMING domestic candidate, especially football, some other sport usually takes it(Manning didn't win for his 50 TD season, Warner or Faulk never won with their great seasons, ditto Steve Young and Rice, Ray Lewis, etc). The last football winner was in 1990. You'll see a lot of track and field and even Lance Armstrong had won the last 3.

Someone should tell this dope that his favorite sport is barely a step ahead of the WWF these days as far as preordained outcomes.

Kellerman is terrific and his review of the UFC was outstanding. As far as his arrogance is concerned, ah.... it's sort of a joke. Its not what Max says, its how he says it. Granted those who think great sports radio is Bodingo predicting who will win the Jet's game, won't appreciate Max, but that's what the dial is for.

Also its called the WWE now, and "what preordained outcomes"?

Kellerman is pretty obnoxious and arrogant but I find it funny because he talks like a tough guy when he is a such a pipsqueak.

I do feel bad for him because of his brother being mudered and you should read the SI article if you get the chance.

I love when he talks about "The Max Kellerman Army" and how they're going to go to each radio station whenever they pass them in the ratings and hold a victory party. I'd love to see that happen.

The problem (among many) at 1050 is the shows are so short (only 2-3 hours tops) that the hosts have no chance to establish a rhythm to their show. And do you think Mike or Dog would ever let the update guys act as de facto co-hosts?

Kellerman talks too much about boxing. It is not so popular and he wastes too much time on it. I also hate how he brags about how much money he has. Noone really cares.
