Giuliani: 'I'm rooting for the Red Sox'

Not that I want to get political on the sports board, but the above headline is from USAToday.com Rudy, trolling for votes in Boston, said that he is an AL guy and always will go w/the AL team unless the Mets are in the WS (guess he needs to cover all bases). Hey, I hate the Yanks and am not a big fan of Rudy, but the one thing I grudgingly admire about him is that he is a legit fan, not like a lot of pols. C'mon, Rudy, you can't wanna be Pres this badly.

He could wear a red sox uniform, hat, and paint his face red and he would never win in Mass. No way this was political.

With all due respect, what are you talking about??? He is in the fight of his life to win the New Hampshire primary, that place is loaded with Red Sox fans.

I would like to know if one die hard Yankees fan would ever root for the Red Sox.

I think there were more than a few Yankees fans who rooted for the Red Sox vs. the Cards in 2004. I wasn't one of them.

Rudy and Hillary are both total frauds. No wonder they are in the lead in the polls. The American Public are morons. Mike & Dawg for Pres!

He's transformed that chant from "Red Sox" to "Rudy Sux."

Amazing!!!!!!

What a softball interview by Imus today. Rudy avoided the questions much like he did the draft.

It appear that this is part of the "new" Imus schtick. So far since his return he has been quite a bit "kinder and gentler" (especially to his new integrated staff  ) and isn't the Imus of old. His best days, IMO, were probably in 2003/2004 but even at half-strength he's preferable to Carton and Norman. If the I-Man had gone elsewhere and Curtis and Kiby remained on the air, his NY ratings would be in serious trouble.

Russert conducted a much, much better interview (than Imus) on Meet The Press today.

Believe it will be replayed tonight at 10 pm on MSNBC. As they say, check your local listings or check the Meet The Press web site.

Russert was very direct about Bernie The Crook (asking Rudy about the love nest Bernie had with Judith Regan overlooking the WTC which was for rescue workers) and asked Rudy if he thinks Secret Service protection should be afforded to a president's mistress.

Looks like Rudy is taking a page out of the JFK school of campaigning, that is to say he smiles or laughs when a tough question is asked.

If you have the time, it is worth watching.

On Meet The Press, Russert showed apicture of Rudy from 1953 when Rudy was a Little Leaguer for a team (called The Red Sox) in Garden City, Long Island.

So much for the credibility of the story he likes to tell on Mike and the Mad Dog, that when he was a kid in Brooklyn (he moved to Long Island at age 7) he wore a Yankee uniform and the kids in the neighborhood chased after him because he was not a Brooklyn Dodger fan.

Who in their right mind believes that any 6 or 7 year old is going to chased by a mob of kids and that he was in danger because he was wearing a Yankee uniform??

Sort of like the time Elliot Spitzer said he grew up in The Bronx on Mike and The Dog. Technically, he did. However, as we all know he grew up the son of a multi-millionaire and grew up in a mansion in tony Bronxville (which is not exactly the South Bronx).

Politicians are all alike. Anything to get elected. Rudy's personal life makes Clinton's look clean.

Rudy and Bill are both scumbags but I feel Clinton is more interesting. You know they really have a lot in common.
