Joe Buck not calling games

Anyone know why FOX hasn't used Buck to call the #1 FOX NFL game the past two weeks? Would think Buck and his ego wouldn't enjoy being delegated to a studio show host.

Anyone know why FOX hasn't used Buck to call the #1 FOX NFL game the past two weeks? Would think Buck and his ego wouldn't enjoy being delegated to a studio show host.

Allegedly Fox is experimenting with travelling vs. fixed location studio and they decided to go with a fixed location for the last two games. I think it was just too damn expensive to have that travelling roadshow every week.

Because of this creative/budgetery decision, it was easier to stick Buck in the studio to run the pre and post game shows as they have a surplus of play by play guys for Weeks 16 & 17 whereas a studio host would be a much trickier situation.

FYI, he's coming back for the playoffs and will be in the booth with Aikman next Sunday in Philly.

Don't you worry, Joe Buck fans, the triumphant one will make his return this weekend.
