oh brother.....i would say I can't believe what they just said but i can.

Here's two guys that never played the sport....and one guy who claims tennis as his fav sport...telling two...TWO super bowl MVPs that they are wrong. Cameras caught Peyton and Eli talking about how it is better to be down 4 on a final drive so you have to be more aggressive ....and Peyton and Eli saying how they talked about it earlier in the week.....

YET..of course Fatso and Fruitloop know better cause they've been inside the helmet and can tell you no way you want to be down 3 so you can kick a FG...oye

How can you be that worried about chunking down deep fried greasy potatoes and tube steaks during a game like that? What a pig.

it's ok, it wouldn't be too distracting. mike pays a small phillipino boy to hand feed him when he's on the road.

It's funny Mike complaining that something at a ballpark is overpriced.

How many times has he yelled at a caller for complaining that ticket prices or food is overpriced at Yankee games or Mets games etc. telling the caller that if you don't like it then don't go.

What a hippo crite.

To be fair he wasn't complaining about the overpriced stuff. He was saying you had people there ready to pay $120 for a $20 souvenir, and they had "two old ladys" at the booth with a thousand people ready to buy. He was complaining about Roe having to wait an hour to buy something to bring back home. He understands the markups and was fine with it.

Mike and Chris had a problem with Strahan's edgy post game speech. I wonder what they'd think of this?

From ESPN.com:

The Giants didn't have anything positive to say about Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour after their Super Bowl win. Apparently, Seymour told some New York offensive players that they "should be ready to go home" before their last drive. That comment irritated Toomer, and it still bothered Giants running back Brandon Jacobs in the locker room.

"I'll give you a quote on Seymour," Jacobs said. "You can write that he's a soft [expletive]. He said we should get ready to go home. Well, now he's on the team that went 18-1."

I have taken to counting how many times the big blowhard latches onto a particular term when he is pontificating. During this enlightining lesson on NFL tactics, he glommed on to "field goal in your pocket" and said it four times within 3 seconds.

Good find. In Toomer's press conference and whenever he was interviewed he brought up the Pats 19-0 book...the fact that they copyrighted 19-0, that on the field on the last drive the Pats players were inviting them to all the Patriot victory parties and told the Giants players they're going home. Toomer said you just don't tempt fate like that...

Because everyone is as petty, arrogant and ego driven as Mike and Chris, Tiki must be hurting.

Memo to M&MD. It is possible for people to actually move on and feel good for people when they do good, even when they are not around.

I'll use myself as a example. My high school team finally made the playoffs they year after I graduated (my senior year we lost the last game). But I wasn't hurt, I was happy for my friends still on the team and wished them well. I'd think that would be the more natural reaction, than to feel bad about it.

Excellent observation. Some people are gracious and accepting of other's success, while some feel envy. Russo and Francesa are two such individuals, exposed by virtue of their own words.

I'd agree w/you to a point. I think the thing that kills Tiki is that he is hated by 75% of the Giants players and organization.

I'm sure your hs teammates weren't dogging you after they won and saying you leaving was instrumental in them winning. The Giants have said in thinly veiled shots that Tiki leaving actually helped them get to where they are.

I wasn't comparing myself to Tiki per se, I'm just saying that it isn't impossible for someone in Tiki's position to actually not take it personally. Dog is saying as a human being you'd have to be hurting, and I'm saying not necessarily.

Note to M&MD - the 2% of callers who get through who are Giants' fans who are complaining about Shockey do NOT represent the rest of the Giants' fans. I know I don't speak for all Giants fans but I sure don't feel that way about Shockey and for sure can't wait to get him back on the field. Again this notion that every single Giant fan hates Shockey now and want him gone is just ridiculous.

Mike: "Giants fans have come home to roost about Shockey. I was alone out there for a while."

Mike definitely has personal issues with Shockey ever since he blew off a weekly spot on the FAN, then later said Mike will die of a heart attack.

Would very much enjoy a scenario where WFAN does not renew Russo's contract and let's Francesa do the show by himself.

Can't see ratings falling off dramatically, if at all.

Why pay Russo a few million dollars a year when you don't have to do it.

No one is going to pick him up for 7 figure money if he gets cut from The FAN

Now that they have signed Francesa to a long term deal for big $$, there is no reason to pay Russo.

I'm going to have to disagree with you MM. I think it is Dog that drives the show and Mike alone would alienate listeners. Dog would do just fine by himself and would be worth the money IMO. And they drive me crazy equally so not playing favorites. :) Just giving an opinion on how it would go if they were separated.

More Mike hypocrisy. Early in the season one of his themes was how there were very few good starting QBs in the NFL. He brought up players from 10-15 years ago like Bubby Brister and Neil O'Donnell and claimed there was much more quality depth among starting QBs in the league. He said that after Brady and Manning and maybe Palmer there weren't too many good QBs.

I thought it was an absurd hypothesis as you have a lot of young starting QBs that are still developing, and he was making it seem like average QBs from 10-15 years ago would be All Pros today.

Well, Favre had a great year as did Romo, and now Mike says that the 3 QBs from Eli's class have all turned out to be great. So, which one is it Mike? Are there hardly any good QBs, or do half the teams in the league suddenly have "great" QBs?

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Democrat Hillary Clinton became a super fan of the New York Giants on Sunday, revelling in their upset of the New England Patriots - and even seeing an omen for her own political future.

"Super Bowl, Super Tuesday, we've got one down, let's get the other," said Clinton. Clinton had said she was banking on the "New York team" to carry the day in football's biggest test and in a mega-round of primaries next Tuesday. With their 17-14 win, the Giants held up their end of the bargain.

Clinton held a campaign rally in Minneapolis but gathered with about 200 backers at a local sports bar to watch football's biggest event.

When New York scored the go-ahead touchdown with 35 seconds remaining, Clinton leaped up and high-fived some young people standing near.

"That was unbelievable," she said.

"Oh my gosh."

Filing out of the room after the game, Clinton gushed: "I'm so excited, I'm thrilled."

"It was a fabulous game."

I'm surprised Hillary didn't propose the Giants start the game ahead 12-0, at kickoff.

Anytime socialists profess their love for sports, I am quite amused. For if they were to extend their political philosophies to sports, you'd have a point spread to adjust the scores of the games at the beginning to benefit the team that was 'persecuted' 'disadvantaged' etc, or, each team would finish the season 8-8, and then cancel the playoffs. This is to me the equivlaent of the 'progressive' income tax scam that is perpetually indoctrinated by socialists and is declared 'fair'. Yet, if you were to use that same philosophy in sports, the team that was designated the handicap obstacle (in this case the Patriots) would be screaming, and rightfully so.

You always rail against baseball because small market teams have no shot in your opinion, and the only fix to that is obviously a form of socialism.

Don't be fooled by Hillary. She's no socialist. If she were, I highly doubt rabid neoconservative Bill Kristol would have referred to her as a "responsible Democrat" and intimated that he would support her publicly except for the fact that it would hurt her chances. This, and her unwavering support of Israel, are what keeps the money flowing to her campaign. Just follow the money.

Yo Mike why don't you admit that whenever you say "a lot of Pats fans" can we just all assume that you mean "per Simmons column which I just read five minutes ago.."

from the article

1. Before the pregame introductions, the Patriots were jogging off the field and the Jumbotron caught Brady briefly break stride to shake hands with Pat O'Brien. This bothered me for some reason -- somewhere along the line, the team and the quarterback almost became too famous, as symbolized by that handshake and the fact Brady would have run right by O'Brien six years ago because he would have wanted to flip out in the tunnel and inexplicably head-butt Bledsoe over and over again. Look, I'm not blaming Brady for the handshake. This was the season when his fame transcended sports and morphed into something else, and part of that "something else" involves the occasional random pregame handshake with the likes of Pat O'Brien. You have to do things like this when you're famous, even if you don't really want to do them. At the same time, I thought this was a terrible omen and a defining moment of the season. In the Super Bowl, you'd much rather be the "Nobody believes in us!" team than the "Not only does everybody believe in us, but our QB shakes hands before games with Pat O'Brien" team. You just would.

2. Speaking of Brady, if the Patriots had finished 19-0, I planned to start my column with a scene from the Patriots' postgame party. Through some mutual friends, I had arranged to hang out with Brady's crew for what promised to be a laid-back celebration in somebody's hotel room, probably no more than 15-20 people since Brady's circle is surprisingly and refreshingly small. Because it was a rare chance to catch Brady in an unguarded moment -- and an important moment at that -- I spent most of Friday and Saturday thinking about that first paragraph and all the different ways it could start. I kept seeing Brady sitting in a chair with his right ankle encased in ice, quietly sipping a bottle of champagne with a satisfied smile on his face, and Gisele would be there, and everyone would be recapping 19-0 and remembering the incredible season. I liked the thought of a famous person celebrating a historic night in such a totally normal and relatable way. And that's what it will remain. A thought and only a thought. It never happened.

perhaps Simmons was the Pats fan that Mikey knows?
