Folks, for those of you that listen to WABC (which I do, I'm not conservative or anything, but you gotta admit, it is a great radio lineup), it looks like Don Imus has made himself a few enemies at the station already, and hell, it looks like he managed to do so even before his first show.
Sean Hannity as we all know, stood up for Imus during his controversy. But from what it sounds like, it seems to me that he never wanted Imus at the station. During one of his shows, Hannity blasted Imus for harshly criticizing his own audience. From there, Hannity said that he loved his audience, unlike Imus.
Now we fast forward to March 7, 2008 where Hannity again blasts Imus for calling two producers "fatso" and "snake". What makes funny is that the two people Imus blasted hired him to begin with. Hannity goes on to say "You brought this into their lives", referring to Imus as "this". During the whole tirade, you can tell Hannity wanted to say more, but had to bite his tongue a bit to hold the company line.
And if that isn't bad enough, Hannity would go on to say that if Imus blasts him, Rush, or Mark Levin, they will go to war with him.
Well, too late Mr. Hannity, because Imus did blast Rush, saying he has done nothing for the soldiers overseas. He tried to blast Hannity for the same claim, but after the commercial break, backed off as they found out that he has performed several chartiable activities for the troops.
Yes, it does get worse. Imus has blasted a prominent member of the WABC lineup on a regular basis. No, not Rush, or Hannity, or Ingraham. But 89 year old radio legend Paul Harvey. And why? Because his news and comment segment cuts 5 minutes into his program.
So congratualtions Imus. In four months, you have made yourself a pariah at WABC.
