You mean Hannity and Colmes?
Will there really be a difference without him? I'm sure the show will prosper just fine without a self-loathing liberal, whose sole purpose was to play the Washington Generals to Hannity's Harlem Globetrotters.
Colmes was like one of those "jobbers" from the 1980's WWF. The scrub wrestlers Vince McMahon employed to get destroyed by one of the stars on every Saturday morning show.
Bubber Crosby 11-27-2008, 10:33 PM I think you sum it up perfectly, especially with the Globetrotters/Generals scenario.
In A Big Spot 11-28-2008, 09:11 PM What's all the complaining for? Did anyone ever stop to think the reason why Hannity destroyed Colmes is because Hannity is right?

Like the Brooklyn Brawler? Or was he more of a 90s jobber? Haven't followed wrestling in a long time...
Floyd Merryweather 12-05-2008, 11:35 AM O'Reilly's radio show is also spitting the bit in the first quarter of next year.

I think that was an RFK Jr line about the show.

Not about the ratings, Bill just doesn't want to do the radio show anymore.

To sum it up one word, no. haha
This may be the funniest post I've ever read on here.
The problem with Hannity and Colmes has nothing to do with who is right or wrong, it's about matchups. If Hannity was an NBA player he'd be Charles Oakley where as Colmes would be Eddy Curry. Really nice guy but he gets pounded by the Oakman night in and night out.
Made for great television though, I will miss their dynamic.

The NBA analogy was spot on haha. Made me laugh.
I'm interested to see what Colmes will do with his own show on the weekends. Is his personality strong enough to sustain a TV show? I know he has success on the radio but I'm not so sure if he can pull off a solo TV show.
Reverend Wright 12-10-2008, 11:01 AM these guys really did a lot of damage to independent thinking in America....not a fan of either but atleast Hannity took Obama to task while the sheep all grazed in their spring pastures
Dan Castello 12-12-2008, 05:34 PM Hannity is a 21st century demagogue eerily similar to Father Charles Coughlin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Coughlin). Most of his 3 hour nonstop hatefest is spent marginalizing Democrats, liberals, Jews, ethnic groups, labor unions, minorities, homos (he's right about them, though), immigrants, etc. and spouting pseudo-nationalistic, right-wing nonsense. He's an A-1 piece of crap and a borderline fascist. The language he uses when speaking of "Ronald Wilson Reagan" is so reverential, so symbolic that it's frightening. (He frequently invokes the rhetorical question "What would Reagan do?", a play on the "What would Jesus do?" refrain used by born-again Christians.)
Alan Colmes is a gentleman who, over the years, allowed himself to become Hannity's foil as described in earlier posts. I hope that as he distances himself from the All-American fascist Hannity, he is able to regain his self-respect.

Reverend Wright 12-13-2008, 12:13 PM Sean is a good guy, does a lot for the troops. I dont know too much about Colmes other than the fact he basically epitomizes Obama voters..very uninformed.
Anyway, I'm glad Ron Paul is my president.

Hannity does support the troops, however, the problem is that he favors policies that will have those same U.S. troops perpetually at war with no clear goals or purpose. (Bringing peace, stability and democracy to the Middle East isn't a goal, it's a fantasy.) These people have been feuding with each other for far longer than the U.S. has been in existence. It is foolish to think that we can make them reconcile their differences by using U.S. military power.
I'd rather have the troops stationed along the U.S. Southern border to secure it until the U.S. Border Patrol is staffed adequately.
P.S. Ron Paul embraces some very strange notions, starting with a return to the gold standard. That would be the first step on a path to a worldwide economic contraction. That view alone pegs him as a fringe player on the national scene.
