edited due to not seeing final product
Checker on a Checker 04-30-2009, 10:21 PM I think Mavs/Nuggets will be really good
yea, it will be interesting to see if Denver's newly found defense will continue. I can see that series going 7 with each team winning their home games...
Unclever Name 04-30-2009, 10:22 PM I agree but that still was amazing if youre a sports fan..I realize on here Twins Mariners people will get more into somehow but if youre a big sport fan i dont know how you dont love that game regardless of the TO's
I don't disagree, as I <handwaved> the Yankee game earlier.
mike44 04-30-2009, 10:22 PM Mike, you're a little late to the party....
I know....I should of not said that at this time....a too late scenario....

Bowl of Chips on Mike'dUp 04-30-2009, 10:24 PM the new XMen movie casted Ryan Reynolds in it. Epic fail!
It looks like an absolute piece of s***, and the reviews are confirming this...it's a shame, because that director Gavin Hood directed Tsotsi, which was a great, not good, great flick...
Rick DiPeeardo 04-30-2009, 10:24 PM Boom scenario??
Possibly after Letterman....
Cast of Hair in Dave tonight fir all you MF.com streaming guys!
mike44 04-30-2009, 10:27 PM The Kings must be kicking themselves for firing Rick Adelman. Look where Houston is going and look where Sacremento is....
oomer 04-30-2009, 10:29 PM my heart needs to be hooked to a machine right about now....
Lord only know how I'll make it thru a Game 7.
Suicide scenario.
Also, I thought they reseeded in the 2nd round?? Wouldn't that be Cavs/Bulls or Celtics/Magic?
That McLooth Kid 04-30-2009, 10:30 PM Blackhawks with 3 3rd period goals to tie it up.
Let the handwaves fly.

mike44 04-30-2009, 10:34 PM and sacramento's best players are playing for the bulls now!
HAHAH! Yeah....And I remember the Kings always winning 50 games and making the playoffs every year....boy do those days seem long ago...

I dont think they do as the Nuggets are a 2 seed and they are playing #6 Dallas while #1 LA will play #5 Houston.
Reseeding would make a lot of sense, but so would not broadcasting games on NBA tv!!

At this point I think all the games are going to be on TNT, ESPN, or ABC. I doubt the NBA would put any second round games on NBA tv.
But channelsurfing.net and justintv are great to watch games out of your arear for any sport...
chisoxfan 04-30-2009, 10:50 PM I'm going to sleep, that was exhausting, I'll probably throw up tomorrow morning, though that might be a natural reaction from hearing evan's voice, a true pandemic!

shure! i meant for other sports too but you have it covered, my bad
mike44 04-30-2009, 11:03 PM Houston moves onto the second round with a 92-76 win over the Trail Blazers to win the series 4-2. Will play the Lakers in round 2.
mike44 04-30-2009, 11:09 PM Congrats on advancing to the second round.
What a game that Celts/Bulls game was, eh?
I was following it at the gym while working out.
Two things stand out in my mind- the Rose block and the fact that he then missed both free throws. It's rare when missing 2 free throws like that doesn't end up mattering.
Thank you YOTS.....Oh Man what a game that was! Yeah, very rare that you stil win the game in that situation....
mike44 04-30-2009, 11:15 PM So how was the Magic game? Didn't need Dwight I guess.
Oh it was awesome! Gorat, Howard's backup had a double double, Raschard Lewis had 29 points, JJ Redick had 15 points, they as a team hit 12 three's and finally resembled the team during the regular season who played with great energy on both sides of the ball and had great ball movement all night. It's so great to win a playoff series....
Dave in the City Out West 04-30-2009, 11:21 PM mike44, I still cannot *BELIEVE* how many people wrote off the Magic for this game, just because Howard was suspended. Talk about poetic justice for the Magic.
Got an icebreaker set up in the NBA Playoffs thread. I'll roll out the rundown for tomorrow's game in the morning.

Yeah, a lot of people were already saying at least they have game 7 at home, like they were going to just roll over because we don't have Howard. Ok, sounds good.
mike44 04-30-2009, 11:26 PM JJ redick has 15 points and Yanick Noah with a yuge dunk to win a game. What's next, Greg Paulus hitting trey's for the Lakers next year?
HAHAHAH! you never know.....:D

I read somewhere he is playing QB for Syracuse next year. I will make sure to boo extra loud when he comes to the Rent.....
mike44 04-30-2009, 11:30 PM Good, glad to hear it. When that team is hitting their 3's, they are very tough to beat because they have so many guys that can hit the shot. And without Howard there, this was definitely the night to be on their shot.
Great win for the psyche, too- winning a big game without da big man.
Yeah, when they hit their threes and get good ball movement going they are tough to beat. Oh yeah, a huge win for them especally without Howard out there.
Checker on a Checker 04-30-2009, 11:34 PM He was on PTI not too long ago talking about visiting Ann Arbor on an invite from Rich Rodriguez.
He met with the Syracuse coach on Monday....I think it is all but a done deal. I could care less where he goes, really, but going to a hated rival of mine would be great! Much better than the Packers, thats for sure!
mike44 04-30-2009, 11:42 PM So YOTS, have any thoughts on the series against the Rockets coming up?
mike44 05-01-2009, 12:00 AM My initial reaction is that I am glad Houston won instead of Portland because we've struggled against Portland this year.
I feel good about the series. I've said this before- the only thing that can stop the Lakers in my opinion is the Lakers' lack of killer instinct. They don't put teams away.
They are facing a better team in Houston now, and we'll see if that ends up biting them.
Yeah, saw you gys split with the Blazers during the regular season. I agree with you, the only thing that can stop the Lakers is themselves. Yeah, if they had that killer instinct they would be close to unbeatable.
mike44 05-01-2009, 12:07 AM I bet you're happy that your future opponent is in an all time dog fight.
OH YEAH! I definitely am.......I get to watch my future opponent on saturday night battle it out to have the right to play the rested and refreshed Orlando Magic...:D
mike44 05-01-2009, 12:18 AM Lakers don't play until Mondee. I like time off, but this may be a little too much. Don't want the rust factah in the mix heah.
Yeah, I understand, you don't want them to get off to a slow start and give the Rockets any thoughts that they could steal game one. A nice 30-16 1st quarter lead would be nice out of the Lakers Monday night....:)
mike44 05-01-2009, 12:22 AM From your lips to God's ears, bro.
I would like this team to come out and give them no hope, step on their throats, make them wish they lost in round 1 scenario.
On that note, I'm out. Take care.
Yeah, a nice blowout win in Game 1 at home would set a nice tone for the series. You too, have a good night...

Not to be confused with "a Jeterian swing", as per Al Leiter. I am a huge Yankee fan and love what Jeter has done for the team over the years but it amazes me how someone can make $19M per season and get applauded when he takes an inside pitch, which most "stars" will pull and drive, and punches it to right field.
