Default Mushnick with a nice jab at M&MD today...

funny but true...

Sweeny Murti, WFAN's Yankee reporter, will now double as SNY's Yankee reporter. But, unlike Murti's appearances on FAN with Mike Francesa and Chris Russo, SNY plans to allow Murti to speak

Question

Doesn't this cause complications?

So, let me get this straight, you will have Sweeny as the WFAN Yankees reporter on M&MD which is on YES when he is also working for SNY as the Yankees reporter? So you will basically be able to hear the SNY reporter on YES? I'm confused.

I think SNY said it was ok as long as YES doesn't show Sweeny actually moving his mouth and just sticks with the picture.

Very good for Sweeney Mujibar. Isn't he a Philadelphia Parminders, I mean Phillies fan?

It would make a lot more sense for M&MD to be on SNY when you think about it.

You would think it would be better for them to be on SNY but YES is run so much better, in my opinion. Plus I am sure the ratings will be higher on YES

It actually is probably ideal since they'll be journalistically objective rather than prattering fanboys, or fangirls as Suzyn turned into during her last years on the beat.

SNY couldn't afford Fatso and Froot Loops. Plus they couldn't take the criticism. Only groups more thin-skinned and cheap than the MSG folks are Mets management, and the Comcast people who run SNY out of Philadelphia.

Yes, Mets management is proving how cheap they are on a daily basis by signing Beltran for 100 million, Santana for 130 million, building a brand new stadium, having the third highest payroll in baseball, starting a network with a studio at street level across from Radio City....should I keep going?

what???...over 140 televised games what do you think the ratio is of SNY announcer saying something critical about the Mets to YES announcers saying something critical about the Yankees....you know what...you can't do a ratio when one of the factors is zero..which is how many times you will hear YES criticize the Yankees.

They pay their technical people in peanuts. 1/2 to 2/3 the going rate in Manhattan. The studio was a leftover from CNN.

I will just speak for myself here, but when I consider whether a team is cheap or not, I look at how much they shell out for players and facilities. These numbers are discussed in terms of tens of million dollars.

While I hope the cameramen make a fair wage, it is not a big deal to me if they make fifty or seventyfive thousand. I assume that is a union thing and it gets take care of.

For example, if a team pays their studio folks at twice the normal rate, but will never spend on free agents they need, I would still call them cheap.

I am a yankess fan, but admit the mets are spending. No matter what they pay their studio boys.

Your complaint might be better received at a NYC studio worker board.

Don't they already do that on YES anyway? They split the screen and show his mug on the left side.
