Default Dave Sims

I know a lot of people like him and he does bring some excitement to the game but why does he scream on EVERY single play? Very irritating to listen to.

That said, it's not as bad as Gus Johnson broadcasting Knick games like it may be the last basketball game ever play...

...or Bob Wischusen's Jet broadcasts where every sentence he says sounds like he should have started it with "as a matter a fact."

Dave Sims, used to love his hairpiece. Very strange on a black man. Nobody had the heart to tell him how awful it looked.

Gus Johnson is great in small doses where his excitement plays into the situation, like the NCAA torunament, but its hard to take him serious when hes announcing a November Knicks-Bucks game like its game 7 of the Finals. Wears thin after a while.

I agree completely.

During the NCAA Tournament he can really get you into a thrilling #3-#14 game, but a reverse layup from Quentin Richardson on an early December evening against the Clippers? Tough.

I agree 100%. Gus Johnson is a homer as well. During that Knicks-Bucks game, he went on some rant about how New York is the greatest city in the world and the best players should come here, blah, blah, blah. New York is no better than any other city in the country. All that garbage is just a collective self pep-talk by New Yorkers and some of these celebrities after we got punched in the mouth on 9/11.

Sims was definitely bizarre with respect to the hair, if it was just vanity you would have expected him to have his front teeth fixed.

Anyone remember when his hair was christened by a pidgeon on a live remote opening day at yankee stadium?

PlayerPulse.com will also resurrect one of New York's favorite radio pairings, putting WFAN's Coleman back together with Sims, for their popular Coleman and the Soulman show, which ran from 1989 to 1993. The two will do regular podcasts for the site with many of the top names in sports as guests, and those podcasts will kick off this week.
