Default Mike Francesa Wrong Once Again Re: Kevin Mawae

Caller says that the Jets got rid of him because Mawae was a "Me" guy and bad in the locker room, if you read the papers this is what has been written. I'm sure age played a factor but his attitude played a big role in this decision. Here is Mike's reaction

Mike Francesa: No, they got rid of him because he couldn't play anymore. He's not even playing now.

Mad Dog: Well Tennessee right, doesn't he play on that team.

Mike Francesa: No, he's not playing though.

Mad Dog: I saw him on the field last week.

Mike Francesa: Yeah but he's been hurt, he's been in and out of the lineup though.

End transcript

Really Mikey, wow, you are such a football expert. You really must use a computer, it would prevent you looking like a *******.

Titans have played 11 games and Kevin Mawae has started at center in all 11 games.

"Well, what I meant was he's not playing well. That's why the Jets got rid of him."

I do love when Mike orders Eddie or Malusis to look up something that a trained chimp could accomplish with a maximum of three mouse clicks.

They got rid of him because he was a bit of a malcontent, had nothing to do with his play. If you remember when Al Groh took over and ran a hard camp Mawae was one of the first to complain.

This is exactly why Mike gets the grief that he does. The guy is a clown, rarely ever admits to being wrong, and is such a know it all, he comments on things he has no idea about.

If Mike knew anything about the Jets, he'd understand that Mawae was let go because he was a problem in the locker room. Many speculate that he was behind the comments about Pennington having a weak arm, etc.

Mangini realized Mawae could be a problem and got rid of him. Drafting Mangold, a young, solid, stud Center made Mawae more expendable.

******* idiot.

Then you throw in some tomatoes, tomato paste, you fry it; ya make sure it doesn't stick. You get it to a boil; you shove in all your sausage and your meatballs; heh…? And a little bit o' wine. An' a little bit o' sugar, and that's my trick."
