Yes the interview with Katie Couric was a disaster. Sarah Palin sounds like she was rescued from some cult and is in serious need of a deprogrammer. The McCain campaign needs to let her speak in her own voice, drop the talking points, drop the long answers, if you don’t know, don’t answer it. If they stick to these robotic talking points the campaign is going to be in trouble. They are so scared she will make a gaffe that her personality is gone and the entire interview ends up being a gaffe.
However, one word of caution to the Obama cultists, she is the VP, not the presidential candidate, and one only needs to look back to 2000 and 2004 when the most programmed candidate in history, George W. Bush won the election. Look back at his interviews, he repeated the same talking points over and over, he made frequent gaffes, he sounded incoherent at times, couldn’t identify world leaders. What was the result? Two presidential election wins.
Palin’s interview with Couric was bad but nothing can equal the musings of George W. Bush. I say this with respect for President Bush, the media characterization of him doesn’t equal the measure of the man, but I think we all can agree that at times Bush’s utterances made you shake your head in wonderment.
