Obama says it is not imperative that we capture or kill Bin Laden

Amazing, we go from Alfred E Newman on the right, to Alfred E Newman on the left. We have George Bush telling us he doesn’t really care about Bin Laden, doesn’t pay much attention to him, to Barack Obama who says we don’t need to capture or kill Bin Laden to secure the goal of protecting America:

COURIC: How important do you think it is, Mr. President-elect, to apprehend Osama bin Laden?

OBAMA: I think that we have to so weaken his infrastructure that, whether he is technically alive or not, he is so pinned down that he cannot function. My preference obviously would be to capture or kill him. But if we have so tightened the noose that he’s in a cave somewhere and can’t even communicate with his operatives then we will meet our goal of protecting America.

First Obama picks the Democratic Clinton hack/stooge Panetta to run the C.I.A. and now this. Things are starting to get scary again. I have one simple question for Obama, something the genius Couric could not follow up on.

If Osama Bin Laden is alive, how is Barack Obama going to verify that he is pinned down and unable to communicate with his operatives? The answer is that it is impossible to know what Bin Laden’s capabilities are in one hundred percent certainty if he is alive. The only way to be certain is if he is captured or killed, that should be Obama’s only goal in relation to his appraisal of our progress in bringing Bin Laden to justice for masterminding the deaths of 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001.

Contrast that with a November interview in which Obama said this:

Catching or killing Osama bin Laden will be one of the key targets of Barack Obama’s administration as it is “critical” to American national security, the US president-elect confirmed last night.
