31 Democrats & 17 Republicans Vote Against the People and the Importation of Cheaper Prescription Drugs from Canada and the world. All that voted no should be voted out of Congress! Obama the biggest phony changes his position

December 16th, 2009 · No Comments

The 31 Democrats and 17 Republicans that voted against the amendment to the health care reform bill that would have allowed the importation of cheaper prescription drugs from around the world are basically scumbag Big Pharma party hacks that don’t care about the average American because nobody lobbies for the average American. Include Obama in the list of phonies because as Senator Obama, he supported various legislation that would allow prescription drug importation, suddenly as President Obama he is against it, why? Because the pharmaceutical companies which are not evil, they create great drugs that save lives, but they don’t want competition, they don’t want to compete with canadian drugs that are cheaper, so they told Obama that if he supports drug importation, they will not support his health care bill and so the lackey Obama obeyed his masters and screwed the American people.

Can someone explain the hope and change? President Bill Clinton was against a similar bill, so was President GW Bush, and now Obama, round and round we go.

We commend Senator Byron Dorgan of North Dakota for introducing the legislation and for the 51 senators that voted for it. Look at what the CBO estimated it would save the American people:

The Congressional Budget Office has estimated there could be more than $100 billion in savings to U.S. prescription drug buyers over the next decade — $20 billion of which would be for the federal government — if cheaper prescription drugs from abroad were allowed to compete in the U.S. market.

Will any of the White House press corps ask Robert Gibbs why Obama reversed his position on this subject? Doubtful, we know Gibbs won’t answer the question, he will throw out a lie or say he has to get back to the reporter on this, but humor the American people and actually ask the question.

The phony argument is that these drugs would be dangerous because the FDA has not regulated them. Oh really, the same FDA that speeds drugs through because of lobbyist payoffs, drugs that wind up killing Americans, are we talking about the same feckless FDA, is it impossible to conceive that by giving Americans choice, they could look at the safety record of each distributor in Canada before buying drugs from that particular entity.

Nah, the scumbag politicians that voted against this, Obama included, don’t want Americans to have a choice, they don’t want Americans to actually save money on prescription drugs, they don’t want competition, this is all one big freaking joke.

Orrin Hatch of course voted no, he voted down a similar bill in 2002, you know what his excuse was, terrorism, yes he actually used 9/11 to cover his Big Pharma paid ass. He also brings up the danger of drugs and FDA regulation but this same hypocritical fossil routinely votes down bills that would enable the FDA to regulate the vitamin and supplement industry, why? Because Orrin Hatch gets paid a boatload of money from the vitamin and supplement industry, remember that the next time you see the phony Hatch on FOX News.
Here is the phony Orrin Hatch using 9/11 as an excuse to vote against prescription drug importation in 2002:

Mr. President, as I will explain, reimportation was not a good idea then, and it is a terrible idea today, especially after 9/11.
….

We are facing an unprecedented time in history. I need not point out to my colleagues the challenges this country is already facing in our war on terrorism. Allowing drug reimportation is only going to further threaten our safety and inundate our law enforcement and regulatory agencies.

As always, there are many issues at play in this debate. But, the number one fundamental issue at stake here is the safety of the American people.
Assuring the American public that these imported drugs are safe and effective and unadulterated is next to impossible, especially now, in the midst of a war on terror.

Here is the roll call of Dorgan amendment number 2793 and now the scumbags as War69.com sees them in light of this vote:

Durban (D) Illinois: Worthless senator that never accomplishes a thing for the American people basically votes whatever Obama wants being he reigns from the corrupted slums of Chicago gutter politics, he got his jail that will house 9/11 killer terrorists, now Obama and the jack booted thug Rahm Emanuael get their vote.

Gillibrand (D) NY: Hillary Clinton replacement and Clinton/Obama toady that should resign immediately on the grounds that a car salesman can effectively follow the barking orders of Obama/Clinton just as easily as this fraud.

Hatch (R) UT: This bought off Senator has already been dissected earlier in the blog post, this guy’s picture should come under the dictionary heading of term limits, every single relationship with the drug industry should be investigated, a very good liar as he always appears sober and responsible on FOX News.

Kerry (D) MA: What can you say about this wasted oaf. The last time he was on PBS being interviewed about the war in Afghanistan you couldn’t make sense out of his words. During the 2004 campaign didn’t we hear Kerry laud over his Heinz ketchup heir wife’s commitment to charitable organizations in this country. Yet this robot can’t vote for something that would actually help the poor, working class, and middle class Americans. I really think this retard didn’t even know what he was voting for, maybe he gets a pass, that is how stupid John Kerry is. Wait a second before we move on, does this clown know that he is a Senator from Massachusetts, the same state that Teddy Kennedy ruled over for forty years in the Senate. Are we to think that Kennedy would have voted no? Somebody retire Kerry. Here a liberal actually has a chance to live up to his ideals, to actually help the little guy and he votes no, what are we missing?

Landrieu (D) LA: Is anyone surprised, she is still counting the hundreds of millions her state gets in a direct payoff for her vote, in any sane country the headlines would be screaming corruption but our feckless media has no guts, that is why newspapers are dying.

Lautenberg (D) NJ: Another worthless party hack that does whatever the Obama administration tells him to do, did he send his vote in from a nursing home, again age and term limits please.

Levin (D) MI: Of course this hack voted with Obama, nothing to analyze, still waiting for him to actually create something substantial, can anyone name any worthwhile legislation authored by this loser.

Lieberman (I/D) CT: Who knows, at least he stood his ground against the public option and medicare for 55 year olds, why on Earth he would vote against this is beyond War69.com

Lugar (R) IN: Term limits, a country needs new blood, yet it is almost impossible to defeat an incumbent Senator, so they basically get lifetime appointments, and average Americans get screwed.

Menendez (D) NJ: He’s from New Jersey, similar to Illinois, enough said.

Mikulski (D) MD: If I ever see this waste spewing about helping the poor I think, I don’t know, what am I saying, she’ll be on Morning Joe sometime soon saying just that, while Mika the idiot croons/swoons “Ooh’s” “Ah’s”.

Reid (D) NV: The man who can’t shoot straight, I mean think straight, enough said.

Rockefeller (D) WV: Sold out his state.

Schumer (D) NY: Schumer could not explain his vote, he had a press conference to attend on stopping helicopters from flying over rich areas of Long Island, true story, this camera addict actually held a press conference on that subject a few summers ago. Schumer is big on bluster, weak on voting for anything that actually helps anyone.

Tester (D) MT: Remember when Chris Matthews was in love with this mountain man pretender. Actually I think Chris Matthews still is in love with him, show an idiot like Matthews a man that is a liberal combined with a hunting and fishing license, well you’ve just added a thrill to his other leg, add in a crew cut and you’ve touched Matthews soul. This supposed rugged man of Montana basically took orders from thug Emanuel and the rest of the Axelrod gang, good work wimp.

Warner (D) VA: Term limits.

Whitehouse (D) RI: Phony liberal.

Brownback (R) KS: I’m sure Google can find some explanation for this fraud’s vote.

Cantwell (D) WA: Amazing considering she is from Washington, truly an amazing hack Obama vote, although did you catch her crying to the Italian government about some deranged girl from Washington who was convicted of hacking up her roommate in Italy, yes, more time wasted by a Senator.

Casey (D) PA: Obama supports him in his senatorial campaign, Casey now must do Obama’s bidding, real courage.

Dodd (D) CT: What can be said about this corrupt soon to be retired Senator, it will be fun watching him lose in November.

The other Senators that voted no don’t even deserve this website’s time but we do have one interesting non vote left, yes we have a non vote from:

Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia: Is he still alive?

Update: Add this to the record of New Jersey’s finest corrupt politicians:

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, drugmakers have made $422,072 in campaign contributions to Lautenberg and $358,207 to Menendez since 1990.

And some more interesting facts:

The debate proved difficult for President Barack Obama, who had endorsed reimportation on the campaign trail but was forced to change his tune this year for fear of losing the pharmaceutical lobby’s support for the underlying health-care reform bill.

“When you become president, you realize that the sound bites don’t always work in reality,” Ken Johnson, senior vice president of the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America, told The Washington Post this week.

The money that the drug makers have pumped into Congress in recent months couldn’t have hurt their case. Indeed, the industry has contributed roughly $7.5 million to lawmakers this year, with 57 percent going to Democrats — up from 33 percent in the 2006 cycle, and 50 percent in the 2008 cycle – according to the Center for Responsive Politics (CRP).

In terms of lobbying, the dollar figures are even higher. CRP found that PhRMA, which represents the brand-name drug makers, has spent more than $20 million lobbying Congress this year alone.

Remember during the 2008 campaign when Bill Maher and the rest of Obama’s moonies made fun of the maverick label of John McCain, they questioned what was a maverick, well here is a maverick, somebody who voted Yes on the pescription drug importation bill, and your fake God named Obama is a phony, a man who supported it while a Senator but is against it as President:

“It’s really regrettable that the special interests prevail, and the power of the pharmaceutical lobby,” Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, said Tuesday. “It’s not one of the most admirable chapters in the history of the United States Senate.”
